Early Years Uxbridge Nutrition

Food and nutrition are at the heart of everything we do, and we understand how important a healthy, balanced diet is for your child’s growth, development, and overall wellbeing. Each day provides an opportunity for us to offer delicious, nutritious meals and snacks that are carefully planned with children’s needs in mind, while also helping to broaden their tastes and encourage positive eating habits.

We provide fresh, balanced meals throughout the day, along with a selection of fresh fruit at snack times. Our menus are thoughtfully designed to support children at every stage, from babies to preschoolers. In our baby room, meals are adapted to suit individual weaning stages and dietary requirements. In the toddler and preschool rooms, children enjoy a variety of wholesome meals that support their growing independence and nutritional needs, while also encouraging them to try new foods and flavours.

Breakfast is an important start to the day, and we offer a range of non-sugared cereals and wholemeal toast to give children the energy they need for a busy morning. Breakfast is served from 7:30am to 9:00am.

At lunchtime and teatime, we serve hot, balanced meals that are freshly prepared on site by our nursery chefs. Our meals are designed to be both nutritious and enjoyable, ensuring children look forward to mealtimes.

We follow a rotating three-week menu, which is shared with parents every Friday via our parent platform. The menu is reviewed and updated throughout the year to reflect seasonal ingredients as well as the children’s preferences.

From time to time, we also adapt our menu to celebrate a range of cultural and religious festivals, such as Eid, Chinese New Year, Christmas, and Diwali. On these occasions, our nursery cook prepares special dishes, giving children the opportunity to experience and enjoy foods from different cultures while celebrating together.

Children are encouraged to drink fresh water throughout the day and during mealtimes, helping to promote healthy hydration habits. As part of our commitment to healthy choices, we do not offer squash at mealtimes.

Nurturing Healthy Eating Habit

Babies’ Nutrition

At Early Years Day Nursery, we support both breast and bottle feeding with care and comfort. As your baby grows, we gently introduce solids in partnership with you, helping them explore new textures and tastes while maintaining a feeding routine that complements your efforts at home.

Toddlers’ Nutrition

We offer toddlers a balance of familiar favourites and new foods, encouraging them to explore healthy choices with confidence. Mealtimes are calm and enjoyable, with plenty of praise and support. We gently introduce how food supports their growing bodies, helping build lifelong healthy eating habits.

Preschoolers’ Nutrition

Our preschoolers enjoy nutritious, balanced meals that fuel their energy and development. With guided self-service, they learn about portions, healthy choices, and the benefits of different foods. Mealtimes also support independence and school readiness, helping children take pride in their choices and understand the value of good nutrition.
